When we found these products, we actually had no idea what Tagua was, but loved the sleek, smooth feel of the jewellery and the natural look that just can't be replicated with other materials. It turns our Tagua itself is an interesting material: a seed from an endangered palm tree native to tropical rainforests of the South American Pacific coast.

So... not only are the pieces beautiful in themselves, they are also fair trade, providing work for local artisans in Colombia and giving a reason for these endangered palms to be protected. Win, win all around we say!
