We particularly love this selection of coasters and placemats designed by Lebanese designer Peggy Raphael Dabar. Lebanon is constantly changing and many of the beautiful old buildings from which she draws inspiration are being replaced by modern apartment buildings. Her designs are a reminder of the beautiful heritage of this spectacular, complicated Mediterranean country.

The carpets made and used by nomadic Bedouin in the Middle East are not as perfect and luxurious as classic carpets, but they are remarkable. Expertly woven, high quality and hard wearing, they represent the ethnic heritage of the weavers and the evolution of a tribe through time.
