We particularly love this selection of coasters and placemats designed by Lebanese designer Peggy Raphael Dabar. Lebanon is constantly changing and many of the beautiful old buildings from which she draws inspiration are being replaced by modern apartment buildings. Her designs are a reminder of the beautiful heritage of this spectacular, complicated Mediterranean country.

The floor of Mediterranean residences of the 1930s and 1940s were covered with ceramic tiles in various patterns. These terrazzo were unrivalled for their broad range of colours, arabesques and graphics. Put together, they created a magnificent picture, thus their nickname sejjadeh or carpet.

Washable with soap and water. Soak in hot water to restore shape.
